Chelsea #19 - always a TFS mentor

"I will forever bleed orange and blue."    Chelsea Herndon

"Being a Florida Gator was the best decision God has ever led me to. I am forever thankful for all that this program, team, and coaching staff has done for me." says Chelsea Herndon after finishing up her softball collegiate  career which holds 3 SEC Championships, and 2 National Championships over the last 4 years with the University of Florida.

Ending her career on the BIG stage, that is the WCWS in OKC is what little girls dream of and only a few get to accomplish. "It was certainly bittersweet to be with her in OKC for her first year and her last year. She has to be in a select few to homer in her first game in the WCWS and her last one there. Certainly a birthday Chelsea will not soon forget." says #19's former 18U Team TFS coach Monti Van Brunt.

Chelsea primarily played Right field and DH as a Multiple-threat lefty hitter for the Florida Gators. When called upon on the big stage she delivered with a clutch 2-run double vs. LSU to advance her team to the Semi-Finals. Then for her grand finale, that just happen to be her birthday, in Game 2 of the Championship vs. OU Chelsea delivers a BOMB to Center Field to rally her Gator team.  Although the Gators go on to lose game 2 to a fierce OU offense, Chelsea and her Gator Nation are proud and they have every right to be.

Coach Michael Bastian says "Knowing Chelsea from when she was a young and vibrant teenager that just wanted to play softball, we knew from Day 1 she was a hard worker, invested, respectful, and kind. I'm very proud of who she's become through her struggles and advances...The Fastpitch School is excited to see what her future holds not only as a softball player but as a human."

"This program has shaped me into the woman I am today, and continues to remind me that we play for reasons so much bigger than ourselves." - Chelsea Herndon 6/7/2017
